ColorSqueaker Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026

ColorSqueaker is a Chrome extension that shows the colors, fonts, images, and motion on a webpage and lets you save colors to palettes. This policy explains what it does with your data.

WHAT WE COLLECT
Nothing. ColorSqueaker does not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information or browsing data, and it has no servers, accounts, analytics, advertising, or tracking.

WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES ON YOUR DEVICE

• When you click the ColorSqueaker icon, it reads the page you are viewing (its colors, fonts, images, and videos) to display them in the popup. This happens only on your device, and the results are not sent anywhere.
• Your saved palettes and the position of the palette bar are stored in your browser’s local extension storage on your device.
• A copy of Google’s public font list is cached on your device for up to 7 days.

NETWORK REQUESTS

• fonts.google.com: the extension requests Google’s public font list to check whether a font is on Google Fonts. No page content or personal data is included in this request. Google may receive standard connection information such as your IP address, as with any web request. See Google’s privacy policy.
• Image downloads: if you click “Download ZIP,” Chrome asks your permission to access other sites. The extension then requests the image files you selected directly from the websites that host them. This data goes to your device only, not to us.

PERMISSIONS
activeTab and scripting: read the page you are viewing and show the palette bar. downloads: save files you choose to download. storage: keep your palettes and settings on your device. Access to other sites is optional and requested only when you use Download ZIP.

THIRD PARTIES
We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, use it for purposes unrelated to the extension’s single purpose, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

CHANGES
If this policy changes, we will update the date above.
